Dual Input Jacks

Okay...easy questions

My amp has two inputs one for normal, and one is -6db for high output...

I like to use the 2nd input for my mustang cause it mellows out the sound a bit

1) is there anything wrong with that setup, like will it fry anything

2) can you play two intruments at the same time with the 2 inputs(cause the guide says, concurrently they are equal...or something like that)

1. theres nothing wrong with doing what your doing with your mustang its would be equivalant to plugging into the normal and turning it down a little and adding more bass

2. my vox has 2 imputs and when i plugged2 guitars in the guitars were really quiet coming out of the amp

You ought to get a guitar with two outputs (one output but with a split lead), one for each pickup, like a modern Rickenbacker, then it'll be more "fun" having two inputs on your amp, and you can run effects through one pickup while having the other playing normally or with some other effect, the possibilites are ridiculously endless 😁

It won't do any harm, but (if memory serves from being a youngster running 2 guitars into one amp with a Y adaptor) you may get some odd side effects such as one guitars volume control both of 'em.. and chances are one will be a lot quieter than the other.

It's basically ok for mucking about with your mate when he comes over but it's annoying for anything more serious. I got the same on my bass amp, it works fine untill you start playing too loud, then the amp starts cutting out, once I noticed that I stopped doing it for fear of ruining my amp.

Yeah double inputs can be tricky but me plexi RI has 4 inputs thank god guitar centered helped me figure that #### out! haha Also I have the same problem with the mustang on the first input it sounds weaker but I realized it must be the pups cause everything else is really loud.

Ah sorry dude, I thought you were referring to bob the godly dude. Yeah, some guitars have seperate outputs for different pickups. Pretty odd.

I've seen one once, it was a Hondo copy of a Rickenbacker bass. It would be a simple mod to do though.

I also know someone who mods all his acoustics to have two outputs, one for the Piezzo in the bridge and one for a magnetic pickup over the soundhole.
