Hello everyone!

I've always loved Jagstangs and just recently bought one on ebay. It's a Sonic-Blue 96' with the "Designed by Kurt Cobain" and "50th Anniversary" sticker still on it. However i'm a little confused. Some sites and forums say that their Jagstangs are made of Alder. Did they ever make any with Alder? I always thought both the original and the reissue's were made of basswood. Thanks in advance!!

I believe they were basswood. You can get a Warmoth Jag-Stang body in different woods though.

If you google Wikipedia. It says on there that the original issue Jag-stangs 1994-2001 were made of basswood. and the reissues made inbetween 2003-2005 were made of alder. Hope that helped?
