i think we can all agree that the JS is not a great guitar at stock. I mean hell, even Kurt hated it and he designed the thing!
Of course Kurt realised he made a load of design mistakes, and suggested a ton of modifations (SD pickups, fixed TOM bridge, get rid of the humbucker angle) which HAVE to be performed to make the guitar decent, and he liked it after that.
But then which version do Fender release after he dies? the crappified original of course!
But fair play, they did release his updated modified version in the end, but with a reguar mustang body, and they called it the Fender Cyclone.
Basically if you want a cool Kurt guitar get the cyclone. If you want playablity, build quality, a nicely designed guitar, get the cyclone. The only advantage of the Jagstang is the nice neck and the cool bodyshape (which gives it really nice balance!)
p.s. i do really love my Jagstang, but even after modifications it's only good for Sonic Youth inspired alt-rock or powerchords. I just cant play fast lead on this thing!
