New guy here

Hello everyone! My name is Jared,and I just bought my first Jag-Stang. I have wanted one of these guitars for over 10 years now,and am stoked I finally have one. I am a big nirvana fan,and I love the mustangs and jaguars so it only made sence that I bought a JS.

I got what I believe to be a 95 Sonic Blue JS which is stock. Its got lots of nicks,and scratches and one or two paint cracks,but I love it. I prefer my guitars to have character,cause I am kinda rough on them. Im 23 and im self taught,been playing for about 11 years now.

Im looking forward to getting to know you guys/gals,and picking your brain on these awesome guitars!

What kind of guitars do you guys have?

I have had a ton,im always trading/selling looking for the perfect guitar. Ive had strats,hiflyers,a jagmaster,a few les paul copies,a couple vantage guitars(I love vantage!)some random acoustics...etc...But so far im really loving the JS. The neck is amazing! The only other neck that even came close was my Univox.

Hi Jared, my name is also Jared and I just joined a few minutes ago.. I would say welcome, but it does not feel right, after only joining minutes ago. I aspire to have a the same model year and colour you have of the JS. When I was a kid, I wanted to join the band, but my family was too poor to afford an instrument, so I never got to follow my love of music or play anything above a plastic recorder. I hope to teach myself to play while on deployment.. But I feel right saying, good choice in guitar!

Hiflyers are cool. What phase and color did you have?

Hey Jared,thanks man. Also,thank you for your service,I know I am only able to do what I do because of your sacrifice,props! I lived in LA,what part are you from?Dude I love L7. I love this guitar,and when you make it back home safe,I suggest you buy one ASAP! Keep your eyes open and your head down,and make it back in one piece you hear me? Take care.

I dont remember a lot about hi flyers,but I believe mine was a phase 4 with the stop tail/tune-o matic style bridgethe sticker logo on the head stock,and it was sunburst/tobaccoburst I loved it! The pickups were so #### awesome,and like I said the neck was near perdect.

All over, but the last place a very small apartment in North Hollywood. I was recently transferred to a new unit, so I have since relocated. I have lived all over the US though, so it is hard to call anything home. L7, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Mudhoney, R.E.M.. et cetera.. I love them all! I was thinking along the lines of a '96 Jag-stang in sonic blue or a Mustang in Lake Placid blue if I can find one, or someone here has one for sale; that would be cool. I wanted to take the guitar with me and teach myself to play whist on deployment.. Pass the time in a relaxing manner.. Of course I would not bring an amp or anything, just pluck at the guitar and maybe have one mailed in to me, if I need it. I just need to find a starting place to learn and I 100% disagree with buying acoustic then learning electric, I want to learn electric and only buy electric. I appreciate your well wishing, but it is just another job.. I have had worse..lol

Awesome my boyfriend has a univox hiflyer and he loves it its a phase-3 sunburst. I want to get the phase-1 with the red pickguard..Its the one cobain used in Argentina. I have a cij lake placid blue jaguar with a hotrail in the bridge. There's a photo of it in the Jaguar section if you want to see it. And a butterscotch colored (not sure if that's the exact color but that's the best I can describe it) squier tele (but that's at my dads house in another state so I haven't seen it in awhile). I used to have a red moserite copy but I had to sell it because I was broke..whatever it was too heavy anyway.
