see if you can match the paint color and make sure its made of polyurethane. put masking tape around the chip and paint it on with a hobby brush. put on about 4 coats and let it dry for a few days. then mask off around the chip again and start wet sanding it till its even looking. then sand it again with a fine grade sandpaper and then finish it off with a liquid piant buffer. try wet sanding it around were the chip is too until it blends in evenly. polyurethane is a thick and tough paint, almost like plastic when its dry. so if you buff it out with 800 grit and higher you should still retain a nice shine. i doubt it would look 100% perfect but not terribly bad.
