I saw a guitar in a pawn shop by a company called "odessey" dose anybody own one? If so what can you say about it?
Spelled Odessey, or Odyssey?
I can't say much from an ownership standpoint as they are quite rare. Odyssey was a company that hand-built guitars in Vancouver Canada in the late 70's/early 80's, and was a spin off of another brand called Attila Balogh. The only notable player I know of who played them was Paul Dean of Loverboy, who had them make 50 copies of a guitar he built himself for a promotion in 1981-1982 (I own the Hondo made version of this guitar, which was called the Dean Machine by Odyssey, and called Paul Dean II by hondo.
Most Odyssey guitars had hand made hardware and dimarzio pickups, except the Paul Deans which were hurriedly made. The company went down in 83'.
