Poly finish on the binding of Jaguar 66B

Hi everyone,

I got a Jaguar Big block and binding from Japan and I want to take the poly finish off the binding on the sides of the neck to reveal the white binding, it looks yellow just like the neck with the binding on.

I've done some scraping with 240 grit paper, and got through 4 frets, does anyone have any advice? I've seen this done over at the offset forum but it's hacked at the moment so can't go there. I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips.

I just want to take the poly off the binding, not the rest of the neck. The part I've done so far feels ok to me so I don't mind the feel.

Offset is back up, but what I think most people do with binding is scrape it with a razor. I wouldn't do it out of fear of screwing it up, but that is what I see the majority of people do to get paint off of binding. Good luck!
