i recently purchased a CP Jag and somehow managed to lose the owners manual. unless i've gone blind, i could not find a manual on fender's site. other jag models- yes, but not for the CP. i've figured out what all the knobs and switches do, but i'm more curious as to what fender's description would be. particularly the switch on the upper horn. i've affectionately named it the "woman tone" switch. sounds great through an overdrive and/or an octavia pedal, but again i'm curious as to what fender's intention was w/this thing. it already imparts a massive hi cut, so i find it odd that i can roll off even more highs with the roller tone knob. strange and quirky these jags are. love 'em nonetheless.

I believe it is called a rhythm / lead switch. When down, both pickups work with the lower volume and tone. The three lower switches turn the pickups on and off and the third one cuts the bass a little. When the rhythm / lead switch is up, it runs the neck pickup through the volume and tone pots on the upper horn and bypasses the lower controls. The bassy tone is because the roller tone pot is 50k unlike the lower tone pot which is 1meg. The smaller tone pot in the upper horn makes for a warmer sound.
