anybody have pickup sellers they want to mention? I've been looking into Fralin pickups, Lollar pickups, Bare Knuckle Pickups, Roadhouse pick ups etc... any pick ups you want to mention?

Pickup Wizard makes very nice pickups.

yeah I forgot to mention them... they're from here in Canada! I forgot about Curtis Novak as well. I want to hear what peoples thoughts are on all of them! HNB... do you use any Pickup Wizards? how do you like them?

Hi Bad. Grew up on the border, US side, so we were kind of neighbors for a while I guess. BTW, Canada is where I got most of my early interest in music. Mariposa Folk Festival on the Toronto Islands, every year for years. Up close with Bonnie Raitt, Booker White, John Hammond, Sam Chapmon, John Prine under the tree over there sharin a longneck Molson's with Steve Goodman.

So to the pickups question. I just got a dreeam guitar. This 1998 Les Paul Special, P90's of course, and the neck pup is especially hot. Yeah, the neck. It's a Seymour Duncan P90 and it wails.

My Warmoth Jazzmaster has them in and they sound beautiful. I also really enjoy Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's.

I haven't heard yours yet doug. The best pickups i have heard yet, and by a mile, are custom wound fralin's. My friend has them in a telecaster that was custom built by rick kelly guitars in nyc. They are amazing. It sounds like he changes guitars when he changes his pick style or starts playing with his fingers. They are so versatile. I've heard him play a show with his dad's band in a bar and they started taking requests and it covered the spectrum. He did a bob marley song all the way to a couple of stevie ray songs. He did some old country, like george strait and waylon. He did some old blues stuff as well. I couldn't believe he got that many sounds out of the same setup. I guess it depends on what you want your guitar to sound like. I would get these because i know there is very little that guitar can't do. He had to wait right over 2 years for them to build the guitar, but he will tell you it was worth the money and the wait. I'll post a video in the what you listening to thread of that guitar.

Or i can just put it here. I think that makes more sense. The other guitarist is playing an old jaguar. His name is Bobby Broussard and he's a rather famous blues guy down here. That is the only guitar he has. Anyways, i think you can hear how versatile that telecaster is with those pickups. Bobby was intimidated by Julian a bit, and he sounded confused at times, maybe his rhythm was wrong or something . They don't rehearse together and that could be it. Plus everyone was smashed except Julian. he doesn't drink or use anything, so he always has a clear head and stays very focused, as you can see. Ok, thanks again!

bought a p90 from Pickup Wizard for the neck of my Jag. Alnico 5 Magnets, 7k wound. Should be coming today or tomorrow, he only lives an hour or 2 from my place.

I was nervous about Fralins... because his stuff seemed to be more for clean, etc. I do play clean, not as much as I play heavy though.

Bareknuckles are great! my bro has some in his SG and it sounds killer! Seymour Duncan Invaders are great too! I have one in my Jaguar!!

Got my pickup from The Pickup Wizard yesterday... sounds REAL good in the neck. I'm looking to try out some Bare knuckles and Klein!
