I think it has come time for me to sell my beloved Jaguar to raise money for a Gretsch I've been gassing for. I need y'all's opinions on this.
It is a 1994 MIJ. When I bought it 5 years ago for $450, it had a nonoriginal pickguard, a new Seymour Duncan Jag neck pup and a *shudder* humbucker in the bridge. The body was routed for this. I also think the neck plate is unoriginal.
I bought an American Vintage Jag pickguard (cut for single coils)and 2 American Vintage single coil pups, also a bridge cover and installed it all. Since some of the American Vintage parts are not compatible with the Japanese parts, there are a few extra screw holes (invisible under the pickguard). Also has about a one inch chunk down to the wood on the lower "horn" and some pretty gnarly crazing/buckle rash on the back.
I've heard that Japanese Jags benefit valuewise when they are ugraded with AV parts. I was hoping to get at least $500 out of it.
How much should I charge for this if i decide to sell it?
