JohnRobertRumsey What do you guys think? I was thinking of buying onehttp://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-72-Telecaster-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar?sku=511141http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-72-Telecaster-Custom-Electric-Guitar?sku=510475
BanditGuitarist1 I like the deluxe Walnut finish so i vote that one! Ive played both though at my local guitar center they didnt sound really good to me.
greenlee i really like the deluxe alot.i got a chance to play one and it sounds nice.i swear i had to fight temptation and not walk out the door with it.two humbuckers, walnut finish, and big 70,s headstock. if possible try one out first.
Johno Get the Custom i have one. Its a jap from 93' with a maple neck.More versatile, you have the classic Tele twang & a bit of beef from the bucker, also get some nice tones when both are engaged.
deadonkey get a custom, then put a deluxe neck on it.cos a tele with a bucker looks so much better with the CBS stock.
Lambtron Damn good idea, but I think they have different pocket shapes.Maybe with a bit of routing and filling, then plonking a 70's strat neck on
superfuzz tele customs come witht the large cbs era headstock dont they? i remember them haveing cbs headstocks. they are great geetars though.
Lambtron No. Only tele deluxes came with that headstock, and it's in essence a strat neck with a strat pocket for the body.
greenlee another unique feature of the deluxe and custom compared to the standard tele is the waist is cut out which makes it very comfy to play.
