This is one person's opinion and may not be the general consensus you get, but here goes:
The brand new hard cases that Fender offers for the Mustang get some pretty ####ty reviews from people that do own one. I personally don't own one for my Jag-Stang, but what I do own is a real vintage 1960's Mustang case. My Jag-Stang is a really tight fit in that case obviously since it wasn't designed for the much more modern Jag-Stang, but it will fit your Mustang flawlessly. It will also be of better quality and have that cool vintage vibe.
eBay Link 1 - This is the exact case I have for mine, albeit mine is in a bit better condition, but when I bought my Jag-Stang from the previous owner, it came with this case in great condition. Not sure where he found it.
