Pickup & Tremolo Questions

Hi forum,

i'm a owner of a jag-stang since today.

It seems to be from 1996, Made in Japan, SN# V016384

The single coil pickup is replaced with a Fender-Lace Sensor (?) but the original was also included in the package.

The Humbucker seems to be bad quality (no label on the bottom)

Should i replace the Fender-Lace Gold Sensor with a TEXAS SPECIAL Bridge?

What DiMarzio Humbucker should i choose? Paf Pro DP151?

Last question. What kind of screw holds the tremolo? Mine is missing and i need a replacement.

theres the screw for the trem. As far as changing the lace sensor for a texas special, thats completely your call. The humbucker isn't exactly bad quality because there is no label, its just the stock fender one from the looks of it. The aftermarket humbuckers i use usually have no label, or maybe just a sticker, and theyre just as good and cost less than dimarzios or seymour duncans.

thanks for the link. I did'nt know its just a simple set screw. I thought there might be a screw with a small lever to easily fix and loose the tremolo.

I had one (its a M5) flying around so put it in already.

With the pickup i didnt mean it's bad quality because of the missing sticker. The material itself feels cheap and its rusting on the bottom.

I removed all parts now and created a wiring plan:

Additonally i cleaned and polished all chrome parts already. i had some Nevrdull and polished everything.

For the coloring i used some finishing polish. it looks very clean now.

Unfortuantely i found a lot of rust below the tremolow, which has burned into the finishing already.

I went ahead and ordered a DP151 in cream color.

I will rewire everything with new cables.

Here i have the next question. Which quality will be best?

braided cables because of flexibility but maybe minimal lowered throughput.

Tin-coated plain copper wires with less flexibility but maybe would start to vibrate?

Does that really matter?
