Mine (U023314) has a JT-95 neck on it.
I think the Jag-70 neck would either be one of these situations........
- If Fujigen made the neck, then it could have been either a Jaguar neck that was labeled for a Jag-Stang due to a shortage in neck production, or maybe at some point Fujigen had to make room for some more product lines/contracts or reduce production cost, so in order to do so, they consolidated the Jag-Stang/Jaguar to use the same neck. They could have also done that to the Mustang, Vista Series Jagmaster/Super-Sonic/Musicmaster.
- If Dyna Gakki made the guitar, then it could have been that when Fender changed builders under contract for the CIJ guitars, Dyna decided to just use one style of neck and not two to save cost/keep production less complex and therefore more efficient.
- Early Jag-Stang's could have had Jag-70 necks due to a huge influx of initial orders from Nirvana fans, they may not have had the stock ready yet, and would need to crank out more to meet demand, and necks are one of the hardest wooden parts to make on a guitar, so could be they could not make them fast enough so they started using Jaguar necks on some of them to meet demand.
- The above could have also been the case if Fender decided to make the Jaguar neck thicker or change it's profile to appeal to certain tastes, and/or to use up excess.
As for stickers, only the 1996 models have the 50th Anniversary, and that would be just about ANY 96' model Fender regardless of origin (I've seen Mexican and American Fender guitars with that sticker too). The "Designed by Kurt Cobain" sticker, I think they may have stopped using those on the Dyna Gakki (97' and later) Jag-Stangs as I've seen one or two used ones, one which was only a year old and looked barely touched, and those did not have the sticker or any sign of it. I'm not 100% sure on that though. I know some people or even some shops may have taken it off too.
