Fender J Mascis Jazzmaster

Hey people

Im just wondering if anyone has the J mascis Fender Jazzmaster purple sparkle, why im asking is that i cant stop mine buzzing!!

Its all standard i have bought a buzz stop but that has done nothing to improve the problem, when you play the guitar with the standing up and tilt the guitar away from you it buzzes even more.

It sometimes comes through to the amp but not always, i think this problem is caused because of the tune o matic as apprantly there not designed to be fitted on the standard jazzmaster tremelo.

Just got mine yesterday and need to put .11s on it. Biggest problem I've had is the high e string jumping off the bridge. If putting 11s on it does not cure that, I guess I' have to either do new saddles or a Mastery bridge.

FWIW, 11s helped and my guitar tech filed slightly deeper ruts in the saddles ... No more strings jumping out of the saddles.

Mine doesn't have any buzz, but it is not an uncommon problem.

Now, I have a question too. Mine doesn't have the tremolo arm and I am having the hardest time finding the correct one. I've got one that is the "snap in" non-threaded kind supposed to be for Japan re-issues, but it still is too small to have a snug fit. It falls right out. I don't have my caliper here to see what the difference between the bar and the hole are, but as I said, it falls right out.

I've seen some of these tremolos with a black-tip and some with white tip. The Fender website seems to not have the 2007 purple JMJM listed anymore.

Any suggestions?

You need the domestic market Japanese unit, not the Japanese export one.

Alternatively you can upgrade to a USA collet and arm, replace both and you're golden.

Thanks for your replys and sorry my reply is so long I am gonna take it to a guitar tech and maybe file down the nut or replace it as if I put thin piece of card in one of the nut saddles and the buzz disappears.
