I have an old Jazzmaster that I put SD Quarter Pounders in when I first bought it. At first, they buzzed, then a tech fixed it. years later I ordered stock pickups from Fender and now I have the same problem all over again. Someone suggested that I solder a wire from the brass plate to the ground on the input jack. I tried that but it didn't work. I also tried all kinds of wire/grounding experiments just with a piece of wire, but no dice. I asked the same person what I should do and he said that I should try waxing the pickups. I might try that, but I thought that the waxing thing is for fixing microphonic feedback...I don't know, would that solve the buzzing problem? I don't want to take my guitar to the first guy who worked on it because he charged me close to $100.00, which I think is too much. I want to fix it myself if I can or find someone who will charge less. I was also thinking about buying a noise gate/suppressor. What should I do? Thanks.
