They never did until maybe 1970. And then it was mainly a nice cosmetic touch. The Mustang is so small and light, you (well, I) really don't need the contour.

Whoever says the Squier Mustang bridge is horrible just hasn't heard of loctite.

The saddle adjustment screws are said to buzz. A simple squirt of this stuff will cure that, guaranteed. Just back out each adjustment screw, squirt a drop of this on the screw, screw it back in to where it was and you're done.
