I can't seem to find an answear to this and my photo shoping skills are non exisistant. So I was wondering if it's possible to fit a Jaguar lower control plate, the vol/tone plate onto a Jag-Stang in place of the Mustang plate.
I'm going to be starting a build soon in which I'd like to try this if it would work. I'm planing on useing a modified Bronco style guard and am trying to find of a way to fix the lines on the bottlm edge. You know how the pickguard cuts in on the lower horn and the Mustang plate doesn't really follow ther curve of the body.
I know I could just reangle the plate although I'm not sure if that would work with the jpreexsiting routing. My other plan was to just have a one piece pickguard like a standard Bronco guard is and then slightly reshaping that part of it to line up better. If that makes sense.
My other tought though was to introduce a bit mroe Jaguar influence and use that plate insted, albeit flipping it. Something like the second picture in this series.
It looks liek it would cover the routing just fine although I'm assuming I'd have to route a bit more out possibly. Also I know know how it was interfear with the Mustang tremolo. It lookes like they may over lap. So does anyone have any thoughts on this by chance, anyone ever tried it? I don't have a Jag-Stang body on hand at the momment nor do I have the plate. Other wise I'd just mock it up and see.
Edit - ona related note how would a Jazz Bass control plate look?
