CIJ Competition Mustang Neck Radius?

I bough a Lake Placid Blue Competition Mustang with non-matching headstock off of eBay. I was expecting the neck radius to be 7.25" but it is 9.5"

I was surprised cause looking at Fender Japan's site, all the mustangs have a radius of 7.25"

Is the difference due to a model change? The serial number on mine is Pxxxxxx so it was manufactured 99-02 according to the Internet.

The time it was made had no bearing on the radius. everything i've found says that the neck should be 7.25'' fretboard radius. making a fretboard guage for both sizes i noticed that the difference between the two is very minimal, so it may be showing as 9.5 when it really is only 7.25"
