No problem dude. Novak will sort everything out for you. Or if you just want reproduction pickups, you can even just tell him you want Jazzmaster pups wound to say... a 1962 or 1965. He knows all of the slight changes that were made even between a short span. If you don't have or you just don't want to use a boost / overdrive, I would ask him to wind them slightly hotter. Although a much more detailed and pleasing-to-the-ears sound would come out of getting correct vintage pickups and boosting them with an MXR Micro Amp or something similar.
He really assisted me in setting up my guitar to perfection, which is why I sold all of the rest of them. With a couple flips of the switches, you would swear I switched guitars completely if you closed your eyes haha. I now own a Jag-Stang that I feel can handle blues, country, rock, jazz. Whatever you wanna throw at it.
Similar to Dino Jr. era Jazzmaster sounds would definitely be 1965 period correct Jazzmaster pickups. You can find the 1965 wiring schematic on the internet very easily (I can help you when the time comes). His board in Philly was loaded with multiple fuzz effects. He had two Big Muffs, one looked to be a modern reissue and one was definitely an older NYC Muff. He also had a real Univox Superfuzz, which was cool to see in person. He definitely favors Electro-Harmonix pedals, as he also had a Small Clone, Memory Man, and an Electric Mistress. He runs a wah pedal as well, not sure of the model but any would probably suffice. There may have been more, but I only saw one MXR pedal and it was definitely a Phase 100. I have heard that he sometimes runs other amps off stage that you can't see, which I was not able to see. Many have told me it was unlikely he was running through less than 5 amps, but it was a fairly small venue and 3 Marshall stacks was overdoing it.
