Inexpensive tuners that can also intonate.

Just wondering if theres any cheap tuners that anybody has or knows about that have the ability to intonate? my buddy has this really crappy first act that im trying to turn into a decent player for him as hes just starting out, and i just need something thatll at least get me in the ballpark with the intonation. all suggestions are most appreciated.

Tuners that intimate? Never heard of such a thing!

Intonation is set by increasing or decreasing the length of string that rings when you strike it, to intonate with tuners, you'd need a stationary bridge, with tuners that slide up and down the headstock!

I'd be amazed if a company had made such a thing, the traditional setup is easy to use.

no i mean LED tuners, like the snark and korg tuners lol, are there any inexpensive ones that can be used to intonate

Any tuner can be used for it, cheap or expensive.

Not a problem, as long as you can plug the guitar into it, or have one that has a piezo in it to pick up the vibrations it should work fine, i mean hell i used to use one of those first act tuners. I've kinda given up on intonating my guitars, but suprisingly they all sound fine.

If it were a quality guitar I would say take it to a tech because a setup isn't very expensive and they use strobe tuners to get it dead on. As redman said though, any tuner will work. Because it reality we are just talking about slight margins of error between the Korg style tuners and a strobe tuner. Not only that, if you're buddy is just starting, he won't know the difference between intonation being perfect and a few cents off. And for someone just starting, intonation is the least of their worries haha 😀 Good luck

eh his is a first act, me working on it has been a bit of a learning experience. i mean i know my way around a guitar pretty well now, but the more i work on them the more i learn which is actually fun for me. but at this point, im thinking about keeping it for firewood next summer, and picking up a starcaster at my local shop for him lol.

Eh, those aren't much better honestly, you're better off buying a squier.
