Yes, exactly. I don't want to change the way the pivoting bridge operates, or is/was meant to. I just want it to be of better quality than the Japanese one that's in there now, in addition to the crappy condition it's in from the previous owner.
Hence, the USA bridge, of which I've already ordered ... along with a USA tremolo unit.
But all that notwithstanding, even with the Japanese components, I've not really had any of the problems usually associated with a Jaguar. Let me say this though, when I bought it, it came with roundwound 10's and it did have some of those problems. But the next day I switched to flatwound 11's and virtually all of the problematic buzz and string popping business that one hears about with these guitars was gone. It's been an absolute delight to play.
I'm mostly a rhythm player and not at all "abusive" in my strumming technique, so the 11's haven't popped once since the change. And since I'm not really a lead player, I don't need to worry about having to muscle the heavier strings for bending purposes. If and when I do want to play some lead, I have plenty of other guitars for that.
No, I'm quite enchanted with this Jaguar. I became aware of its "intended purpose" before I bought it, and it has preformed wonderfully in that regard. Now, I just want it to be the best it can be, and thus, why I'm looking for these various replacement parts.
