NGD Fender Mascis Jazzmaster (Pic Heavy)

I didn't like the look of these when I first saw them. The purple just didn't appeal to me. Somehow over time I grew to like them and then want one. Fortunately one popped up and I was able to grab it. It is AWESOME. The finish is excellent. The action is great. (Something I was worried about with a TOM.) The satin neck is great. I am digging the jumbo frets. Pickups sound excellent. The tremolo string spacing seems like AVRI. (They don't trapeze like my other Japanese ones.) It still has the Japanese chrome lock and such. Maybe they adjusted the hole spacing on the plate? It goes straight over the TOM. Here are the pictures!

What do you think of the pups on this? Seem a little wimpy to me.

I really like mine. Nice and warm. Very good clean and the bridge isn't too bright either.

I have been able to fiddle around with a couple of these, i dig them, i like everything about them really except the satin neck. a fellow in downey re-finished his with a nice gloss and it felt more "at home" in my hand.

nice score. if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

I think $700 if I remember correctly. 😀 This is my only satin neck and I like it a lot. I like the gloss too. I don't notice a huge difference with the larger frets like I thought I would.

I dig the satin neck. I often wish more of my guitars had them. I like the looks of gloss, but the feel is a million times better on a satin neck in my opinion.
