paint depth - kc mustang

So I've got a bit of a scratch on my Mustang. The sort you can feel if you glide your fingernail over it. I've got some kind of paste I bought from ebay to remove scratches from guitars but I don't know how long I should rub it for before I go right through the paint - I've got no idea how deep it is.

Any advice?

you won't be able to go thru the paint. and you say its a paste to fill scratches? ive never heard of such a thing. what is its base? poly or lacquer?

Its like a cutting paste www.guitarscratchremover.com Amazing stuff. It removes light scratches easily, and you can keep applying to remove deeper ones. Leaves the most incredible deep shine. I just don't want a horror story when I'm rubbing and suddenly loads of base coat comes through or something

your safe. your stang is poly, and its probly a poly base finish. the only thing you wouldn't want to do that with is nitro. nitro and poly are caustic to eachother(generally) and will casue weird bubbling and stuffs overtime. you will be fine. polish away. and if it doesn't work. add some more scratches for rock n roll cred.
