Ok.....so I just checked the intonation on my Mustang, and everything is basically intonated perfectly. However, my guitar likes to keep falling out of tune. Do you think it's possible I have them too tightly strung so the tension has something to do with this? A while ago, I started cutting the strings shorter when I strung my guitar.....so there would be one less loop on the tuning pegs....I did this because I could never get the strings to be as tight as I wanted them to be. They would be loosey goosey no matter what I did, so I decided to cut the strings a little shorter. Do you think that's the case?
And also....I was reading on how to change the height of the tremolo unit. It didn't mention anything about removing strings.....but has anyone ever had the problem of the screws in the tremolo unit being smoothed out? I think I accidentally killed the grooves in it....but I didn't do anything wrong...I don't think. I was just using the allen key to turn the screws...it was the right size and everything......but I noticed that it was really hard to turn the screws. And one time I tried turning the screws when I removed my strings, and it was so easy. Luckily I managed to get a pretty good height that I'm happy with, but if I tried to change the height again, I'd have problems. Anyone have this before too?
