Vintage Vibe SP90 help

Hi,

I'm trying to rebuild a 60's Mustang and recently bought two SP90 Vintage Vibe PUPs. The idea of putting them into a standard Mustang intrigued me. But... being a newbie I am confounded by the different coloured wires (Black and Red) and the screened cable (earth?), much like the Gibson PUPs.

How would these be connected to the Mustang switches, has any one done this?

While measuring the PUPs I found that I got slightly different reading when I connected the red or the black with the screened cable (earth). Example the middle black and earth =8.6 while the neck and earth =8.2. However when I just connect the red and black they both ( middle and neck) give me 8.4.

Does that make sense?

did you buy them new? and did you buy them from the manufactureer?

different companies use different colors. go onto that companies site and look up the color code, and they should have a lil ditty about diff ways to wire them up depending on what you are going after.

Bought off Ebay, and the Vintage Vibe site is not all that detailed, nothing mentioned for Mustang configuration. If no-one knows I will have to try Tom Lee, (only music store around HK.)

go on seymour duncans site, i think they have color codes, i know i have like 30 differ company color codes in a book somewhere.......

if you are still having alot of trouble i would try going to shortscale.org and asking some of those blokes, they generally are a bit more tech savoy, but at the same time, they are like a load of drunken child pirates.
