NGD Pawnshop Telecaster

Awesome find at my local pawnshop. Affinity Squier Telecaster. It has been used for certain, but has a great vibe to it. I really like the white on white look. Pickups sound pretty ok. Bridge is jangley. Neck is kind of meh. The previous owner (I am guessing) felt the need to add a Gibson style jack plate. Works fine. Tuners are ok. Pretty happy with it considering it was only $39.00.

I got the new tuners on. Pretty easy. Just swapped out. New strings are on. The problem I was having with intonation went away with the new strings and the issue with the neck pickup sounding like crap also went away. Strange how much new strings can do for sound.

I was going to, but with new strings on, they actually sound pretty good. It is odd for such a cheap guitar to be nice like this. Totally unexpected.

This video inspired me. His tele looks really rad. Basic. Simple. Kind of the opposite of what I normally do. No knobs. No switches. One pickup. Got me thinking this Squier would be a good candidate for it. The pickups were ok, but I saw a lil '59 for tele bridge for $40 so I jumped on that for it. Same ideal. Nothing but a pickup to jack. Pickguard will stay on as well as the plate, but it will be empty.

Emptied out.

i had a squier cyclone which ended having only a blue sensor in neck straight to output

honestly one of the 2 best guitars i ever had

Thanks! I am also a big fan. It is nice because it makes you focus on playing vs fiddling with settings, knobs, pickups, etc.
