My Heavily modified Jag-Stang

Hi guys

I bought my JS in 1998, I've been modifying it ever since. I love the feel and the look of the guitar i just couldn't get on with a few things

The mod list is as follows:

Di'Marzio super distortion bridge p'up

Seymour Duncan Cool Rails neck p'up

LSR Roller nut

Chrome pot covers

I swapped the 250k pots for 500ks

Locking machine heads

Tune'o'matic bridge, i had to grind the bottom down for it to fit

Roller string trees

I removed the tremolo system and bolted it down

The biggest change i made on this guitar was to completely re-wire it to include a 3 way toggle switch instead of the two switches which i removed. I installed it where the input used to be after routing the body and installing the input on the side. I find this works much better for me.

It's probably not everyone's cup of tea but it sounds great and plays like a dream, i've had it for over 15 years and would never ever sell it

Very cool! For some reason the flat chrome/grey look of those tuning pegs looks really good. I wonder what a jag-stang would look like with all flat chrome/grey like that on it.. hmm

i did the same toggle dealio with mine ages ago. tho i left the switches in cuz i thought it would look wierd without them.

i do think its rather.... odd to have the trem bolted down, but use a roller bridge and locking tuners(those are sperzels right?)

but hey, whatever works for you right?

I installed those before bolting down the trem, was hoping it would help the tuning.

I took the switches out cos i always bash my finger against them. it does look a bit odd with two holes!

250 pots vs 500pots for the jagstang

what is the adavantage?

I'm going to keep the same routing but just swap out the pups and pots as the ones that are in it are just really cheaply made

Try get a pickguard made without the switch holes...I know warmoth give you the option to have it with no switch holes but they say they only fit warmoth bodies...but im sure you could make it fit with new drill holes. Would look very smart then. Good choice on the chrome knobs, i use them on both of my jagstangs 😀

What kind of TOM did you install - Nashville, Classiacal or Modern?

And you said "to grind the bottom" - it means you have got to grind the bottom of the bridge itself to make it put the strings lower.

I do no like the idea of shimming the neck to fit it to strings/

I was having a little problem with ny tom on my jaguar, that drugs were buzzing a bit and it just didn't seem right, I took it to a tech and he shunned the neck and o hate the sound of it now on clean... Sounds twangy like a Tele...
