Jaguar Knobs

are the volume knobs for the jaguar the same as the knobs for the jazz bass? Thats all I can find.

Depends. Japanese jags have push-on knobs. I think AV ones have screw fix knobs for solid shaft pots. Not sure what Jazz-basses use - this might vary too depending on where they are made.

apart from what spitters has mentioned, though, i'm pretty sure they are exactly the same. apart from the jazz bass having a third even littler knob

Jazz bass knobs are a little bigger. Also the line is off white in color, as opposed to the japanese ones, which are solid white. I'll take a comparison picture if you'd like.

The vintage Fender Jaguar's had different knobs. They are ever-so-slightly larger than the type seen on Japanese Jaguars, and have a set screw that holds it onto the pot shaft.

The Japanese reissues all have the same knobs that the Jag-Stang and I believe japanese Jazz Basses use, they don't have the screw, and instead are a little smaller, and friction fit like Strat Knobs. The same knobs are apparently used on reissue MXR effects pedals.

you probably would need new pots if they were japanese. but they probably use the same ones on the american and japanese jazz basses. ie, american big with set screw, japanese small that push on
