Can someone please help me? Jagmaster Pick-up wiring.

I'm dealing with a

braided-shield style humbucker pick up, by GFS...

They have sent me wiring diagrams for a normal pick up, with the red, white, green, and black wires.

But this pickup has one wire, with a metal layer outside.

I am so lost. I just want to know how to wire this so I can play my guitar.

the metal outside is the ground, the white wire is the hot. tho if my memory seves me right you may want to pull the shielding back a bit cuz there may be another wire, im guessing that you have a metal covered humbucker?

anywho. the metal covering is the ground.

You are going to solder the lead(white) to either your switch, or to the volume pot. To ground the pickup, you have solder the braided cover to the back of one of your pots. Is it a 50s PAF style you are installing?

i just put a gfs dream 90 into my jagstang, same deal, one wire, braided cover, the one protruding wire went to the switch lug, the metal shield went to the back of the volume pot. takes 1 min to do. easy as pie.
