I looked up Kalamazoo and it was a Gibson company I guess... Its about 2 hours away I was thinking about trying to talk em down before I drive there and turning this into a real mustang. I mean it is from the 60s and its kind of a cheap Gibson..

I think you're right. Seems to me Kalamazoo is the old Gibson plant salvaged by former Gibson employees. The reputation of Kalamzoo guitars is very good. I'd think it would be worth a drive to see their work up close, meet some of the folks, maybe get a tour and find a nice axe at a special on-site price.
