Possible Jagstang Project

I still have some details to think about when it comes to the guitar itself. but I'm pretty set on the idea of a super distortion in the bridge, and a SD antiquity II for the neck. I was going to get a body from warmoth, because I figured they're pretty good quality and fender licensed. I hear they come with the contour in the back too, unlike the actual fender guitar. My issue is the neck itself though. i know the guitar is a 24'' scale, and only necks of the same scale would fit. now, I have a squier jagmaster and I #### love the neck. If I can get one with a 24'' scale (I've heard talk they also come in 25'') would it work on my jagstang body? because I know there is a difference between the jagstang and jagmaster's nut width and fingerboard radius. and my question is how much of an effect will this difference have on the playability of the guitar? Thanks ahead of time for your help

i believe the only jagmaster neck that will work would be one from the vista series or rather the first run of the guitar, the second run featured a 25.5 scale neck, and the latest features a 24.5 or something, its a conversion neck, but it won't work on a shortscale body.

Thanks! You saved me a lot of time, and frustration. If I could have an opinion, should I get a jagstang neck, or try and get a mustang one like it was modled after? I think it was a '66 or '65. something like that. Because it would be a bit hard to procure a vista jagmaster neck. and would any neck on a 24'' scale with 22 frets work? like a bronco or musicmaster?

The bronco and musicmaster were also shortscale guitar necks(24 inches) also the duo sonic II and some of the early ones, but some of those also came in 22.5 scale.

find whatever is cheaper. personally i like the feel of the jag-stang neck, i like the radius and fretsize.

pretty much all the "newer" black top/vintage modified stuff has a different fretboard radius and fret size. a jaguar neck will also work since they are 24 inches(scale)
