Gotoh tune-o-matic bridge with jag tailpiece.

how would a gotoh tune-o-matic bridge work with a jaguar tailpiece, the tailpiece mounted down as hardtail?

it would drag the strings through the saddles, if you used the trem. if you didn't want to use the trem, you could just turn the adjustment screw clockwise until it locked up

only if you wanted it to be. i mean, you could use the trem with a tom. i'm not saying it would be unusable. it would just be better to use the original jag bridge, or a schaller roller bridge, like the trem gibsons probably have

oh ok, my original idea was to mount the jag tailpiece down to make it a hardtail guitar.

I did not have a gotoh, but my Jag DID have a Tune-O-Matic ABR bridge on it when I bought it.......

You can use a trem with a Tune-O-Matic, however, it will kill the sustain of the strings when using the bar as they will not be rolling with the saddles. That's why I did this, because the rocker bridge aided the sustain when bending the bar down.....though the custom made trim rings are another thing.

As for hardtail, I don't see any issues, except the age old fretboard radius issue. The saddles would need filed for the action to be consistant for all 6 strings.
