My Squier VM mustang!

I recently got a vm mustang at my local shop, and decided to mod it! Put a JB in the bridge position, 500k pots, and a TOM. I basically made a KC stang. I want to put a red comp neck in too. Pics to come!

Looks really good, now just get a red pick guard, change the neck pick up cover white and you'll have a rose land ballroom kc mustang. I got a sonic blue one in the mail I'm doing the same way Thursday. That is if my Mexican classic player jaguar adjusto matic bridge is a perfect fit.

Looks great man. One quick question:

Did you have to reroute the body to get that jb in or was it already routed large enough to fit it?

yea it wasnt big enough. i had to rout it. i didnt want to get a jb jr. i like a full size Humbucker. m/

Awesome - thanks for the reply. I am about to do the same thing with my VM mustang (just got the adjustomatic in and shimmed the neck for a playable action) and am now taking a look at the best way to route for the full sized jb

Did you have any experience routing before this and was it difficult? What tool did you use to route the pickguard smoothly?

no experience outing wasnt hard though. pretty easy. pickguard was messed up though. used a soldering iron, dremel and exacto knife. dont do this! edges were ROUGH.
