Modifying the Blacktop Jaguar

Hey guys

just wondering if anyone has changed the Blacktop Jaguar pickguard (with all the pickups etc) to the normal Fender Jaguar pickguard (with all the pickups etc)?
i understand that it might take a bit of cutting of the body to fit all the switches in, but i really want a new Jag because i am sick of the high end of the blacktop jags but, i love my guitar.
if anyone has done this or has a fair idea for what i could do could they please tell me it would be much much much appreciated

ps. another option is i buy the Vintage Modified Squier Jag, i bought the Mustang one and it sounds pretty awesome.

Just Joined to respond. I tried to "standardize" my blacktop. I started routing the Humbucker space to make it larger, got it done and that is as far as I got (it was not as easy as I thought and thinking about routing out more from scratch was just to daunting). I put a jazzmaster pickguard on it (without routing for the switches) and it looks good enough ( have never been a fan of the switching configurations). My major beef however is that Fender moved the trem closer to the bridge. I found a thread on line somewhere about how to make a Robert smith style brass string retainer to keep better string tension over the bridge. Well being a cure fan I thought hey it looks easy. Once I installed it I found the angle was all wrong and now are pulled down and contact most of the bridge body it's self. I did however not have this problem when I did it to a Squire vintage mod jazzmaster. In all honesty the Squire was set up better than the Fender blacktop and once I changed the pots, cap, and pickups in the Squire it is the guitar I play more.
