The EMG's will fit any of the HH Jaguars. The real question is what to do about the Rhythm Circuit pots since Stock Jaguars use 1MEG ohm pots on the lead circuit, and 50K/1MEG Linear pots in the rhythm circuit. I do plan, when I have more time/money to spend on guitars to mod a Jaguar for EMG pickups and test out some rhythm circuit configurations for active pickups.
The reason the Potentiometers are such an issue is because active pickups use 25K Ohm pots, whereas a passive guitar uses 250, 500, 750, or 1MEG Ohm pots. Also, the pots don't alter the tone nearly as much or so I'm told.
I wanted to try a few ideas
- 2 100K Pots in the lead circuit, and a 100K Linear and 5K Linear pot in the rhythm circuit
- put 25K pots in the lead, use the Rhythm/Lead selector for phase reversal (EMG Pi2 Phase Inverter), and use the rhythm circuit pots for a pair of EMG's boost/cut active tone control systems
- put 25K pots in the Lead, use the rhythm/lead switch as usual, but put in a 25K pot and one of those active tone controls that warms up the sound in place of the 50K pot.
As for battery, have not tried it, but the pickup selector plate on the treble side would be GREAT for that.
