Yep, as most of you know it still hasn't changed much! Why mess with something that works, right?

Missing out of that picture is a furman power distributor and a line 6 podxt live that I use mainly as a noise gate.

Top to bottom we have a Rivera Knucklehead II modded for EL34's as opposed to 6l6's (I use EHX tubes)

Korg DTR - 1000 Tuner

BBE Sonic Maximizer

Empty space where power distributor usually sits

Behringer 412 Cab w/ Celestion speakers, soon to be replaced with a Krank or Rivera cab

And as for guitars the one on the left is a Fender Highway 1 Strat w/ a JB Jr in the bridge, and on the right is a Mexican Standard Strat w/ a Hot Rails in the bridge.

I play a lot of metal, and this does the job perfect. I've been stearing away from the super strat loaded with emg's and the sort lately 😛

To be honest mate,there arent that many people into metal on this board, I bet it sounds great for heavier rock tones but for metal surely you'll need a pedal to scoop the mids properly, what do you use? If you got an orange 4x12 for it or somthing similar then you'd get a lot more versitility out of it.

How'd you come across the jag-stang board in the first place (Im really quite curious into how people discover other guitar sounds and so forth). I mean neither the jaguar or jazzmaster is in any way dirty or focused enough to give loads of heavy gain for metal but you've still showed intrest in this forum.

I actually don't scoop the mids at all. My overdrive settings are Treble - 8 with the "sweet" switch enabled, then mids at 6 and bass at 6. I'm really not into the whole scooped mids thing because I dislike not being heard over the rest of the band. The cool thing about this amp is that you can tweak it to the point of almost any sound. It's got a sweet high gain tone for hard rock, metal, all that jazz, and turn the gain down a bit and it's really nice for bluesy stuff. The clean could be better but it's nothing a bit of chorus and my strats single coil doesn't fix.

As to how I found the Jag-Stang board, I don't really know, it was a very, very long time ago!

I've also tried an Orange cab with it, wasn't really a fan. I like mids but the orange just pierced my ears with mids. The Krank seems to be doing the job. I'm also consider the Rivera 312 with 2 Celestions and the Rivera Subwoofer.

like you said man, if it works don't argue! It sounds like you've done what most only dream of: finding the right sound. I've spent silly money over the years looking for the right thing (what do people who don't play guitar spend their money on?). and I completely respect you sticking by your guitar tone instead of scooping, continue to rock.

Actually I might even consider going back the Marshall way, or step up to a VHT.

Nice, don't often see metally types with Strats nowadays, but that's a cool thing! I love my bits and pieces Strat sooooo much.

i was thinking the same thing when i saw the strats.not your typical metal players guitar choice but thats cool.

I've been through a lot of amps... Back when I was younger I could only afford solidstate. I've been through a tiny peavey rage 158, a fender princeton, a marshall avt, a mesa rectifier, and finally this. This is the only amp I've kept for more than 2 years and haven't had any issues with it.

Been through lots of guitars too! Strats are the only thing I can go back to and really comfortably play.
