Possible Jaguar grounding problem

After wiring in my new american pickups i noticed alot of noise, it disappeared after touching the stings or anything metal on the guitar. So basically concluded its a grounding problem somewhere, i went over the wiring and cut the pickup wires down abit and wired a grounding wire from the ground of the lead and rythmm circit and strangle switch to the volume pot it eliminated alot of noise but some noticable noise remains. I have looked at alot of the wiring schmatics the fender and seymour duncan ones does anyone know what else it could be ?

if that's the case, then it is completely normal and there is nothing wrong with the grounding. the strings are connected to the grounding on the guitar. and the guitar is grounded through your body when you touch it. that's how the grounding on all electric guitars is supposed to work.

it always amazes me how often this question gets asked. these threads have all been the same question. some have been rightly told it's normal, and some have been lead (unintentionally, i might add) up the proverbial garden path by people who clearly don't know any better. it should really be put in the FAQ, and probably will be
