New Jag-Stang owner here. Just took delivery on a new to me 2002 sonic blue model. I'm still trying to figure out the pickup switching. Seems like on the Mustang, when the switches are both away from each other, or towards each other, it's out of phase. On my JS, both switches towards the neck seems to get me out of phase, and both towards bridge, both away from each other, and both towards each other simply gets me both pickups on. The guitar is mint, and looks unmolested, so I don't think it has been altered. Weird.
I'm going to live with the guitar for a little while before I think about a pickup swap. I'm a fan of Nirvana, but my tastes have grown exponentially since I was a teenager back then. I'm more into Alt Country coming out of Texas and Oklahoma. Think Rock and Roll slathered in BBQ sauce. I've got a 2013 American Vintage Reissue Tele and a highly modified FSR MIM Fat Strat, but was really looking for a short scale guitar that could be modded to a double bucker setup for covering all bases. I play through an AC30, with very minimal effects - mostly just a boost pedal and a fuzz pedal since the amp has verb and trem. Our band plays covers of everything from Cash to super thick rock, with a heavy emphasis on the live Cross Canadian Ragweed sound.
So, once I live with the new JS for a while, I'd likely mod it for double buckers.
Also, click the link for a good laugh. Is this guy serious?? It's not even the lowest of the low serial numbers. Sure it's minty, but I see an $800 guitar at most.
