Which JM model is this?

Hi,

This is my first post on here and I have a question. The other day I saw one of my favourite bands, Manic Street Preachers and saw that the guitarist was using a Jazzmaster. I was just wondering which model he was using. I thought it may have been a 65 but I was told it was probably a pre-64 vintage. Could anybody body get more specific and which current JM would do a good job of this sort of music?

To my eyes, if it IS a 65', it's a "transitional" guitar, that period between 64'/65' is when the Fender guitars started to change to their CBS format, can't get enough of a look at the headstock to tell if it's a CBS Jazzmaster peghead or not (they loose that cool "wobbly" thing under where the Fender logo is after 65' or so).

If it's not, then it looks to be a really clean 64' or 63' (going off the darker tort), though it could also be a 62' Reissue AVRI circa 99'-12', but I'm betting on Vintage based on the switch and the trem arm.

I'm not an expert, but that's going off what I know about vintage Jazzmasters.
