Another pickguard question...

Thanks for all the info I've gleaned from this board. Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a brown tortoise shell pickguard and found an ebay seller with one. Our exchange:

I've sold close to a hundred of these in different finishes and installed quite a few. There is NO DIFFERENCE in pickguard pattern between ANY of the Fender production Jag/JM guitars. That being said you should ALWAYS be prepared to relocate a couple of Mount holes... they NEVER match up exactly.

Is he right? What does he mean by "relocate mount holes"?....Drill new ones?

I checked guitarpartsresource and it looks like all AV pickguards. Anyone know where I can get one? Anyway, thanks for your responses.

Just a quick question, does anyone know where I could find a TS pick guard for the HH Jag? Fender Doesn't list them to buy on their site. And they weren't listed on that link above. Thanks!

That black pickguard i bought for my CIJ was slightly different, but we're talking fractional. I had to loosen the chrome control plates and jiggle things around a bit to get it on ok.

I don't really trust the seller's words either. I used to believe that CIJ parts would fit one another but I'm wrong. Even my CIJ jaguars' pickguards (and even necks) weren't a total fit when I tried swapping them. My white jag's TS pickguard could fit into my sunburst but not the other way round. The best bet is to have one custom-make using the tracing of your current pickguard. The holes are either a hit or miss. Just one hole alignment out and you'll have difficulty getting the whole pickguard on.

trisky bought an american pickguard for his japanese jaguar. he had to drill new holes. personally, i thought he should just have got a japanese fitting one

And another pickguard question... i'm spamming this here because i cant get sleep anyway 😁 I'm between two color choices for Jaguar, either all White, like these:

Or Fiesta Red

Then i got idea about mixing them, white body with fiesta red pickguard! Can anyone imagine that? 😁 Better yet, is anyone good with Photoshop...

Unfortunately, I can't 'jiggle' my jag's neck when my CIJ pickguard couldn't fit the neck area when I tried to interchange them 😆

I have a brown tort pickguard for either an AV or vintage Jag, I'm not sure. I bought it thinking that all jaguar pickguard fit all Jaguars, but I was wrong and it didnt fit my CIJ jag.

Edit: I can't read, nevermind.
