They're an absolutely genious idea.
Basically, you have a digital pre-amp, this gives you all your models and effects and what have you, this then runs into a small valve "mini poweramp" to ad all that wonderfull valveyness to them, then through a solid-state poweramp.
OK, it's digital, and OK, it's not all valve, but when you consider the versitility of them I swear, they are one of the best practice amps EVER.
They make every other digital and solid state amp sound like pants.
The various models on them actually sound good and not over the top, each one really is a usable sound, and ditto that with the digital effects on them.
And yes, there is a real valve lingering around in there.
Even if you don't intend to buy one, go out and try one. (hmm, that sounds like a dodgey advertising slogan)
