When I got it it actually still had the original Mullard valves in it too. They still worked as well, but were clearly way past their best, hence the switch to EH. The capacitors going is also simply because they were old, that happens to all vintage amps eventually. The only thing really wrong with a component on the circuit itself was the tone control, which I had to get professionaly done, hence the expense.
But, when I used the term solid, I meant tonally. 😉
