ive got the ds-1 and the russian muff but both are almost not functioning at this point
im looking into something like a fuzz face or maybe a new york muff in the future any input on either?

For a fuzz face or NY Muff style sound I'd seriously look into Fulltone either the 69 Fuzz or the 70. I have the 70 its more like a NY Muff kind of gritty fuzz,and it has a knob inside the pedal that u can turn with a flathead screw drive to change the degree of the fuzz and all this amazing stuff. Its solid and totally customizable. The 69 is more like a fuzz face not a treble more full and round like the fuzz faces were ala "Purple Haze".
Those would be my two major recommendations because I love Fulltone products alot they have great tone there built amazingly well and you can customize most of them internally. If you have a Fulltone dealer near you definitely check out there 69 and 70 Fuzz pedals I'm sure you'll be impressed.
I'll try and do a demo sometime soon of some of my pedals and my Orange amp I had one a long time ago but my friend deleted the video before we put it up on Youtube lmao
