I dont think i would buy a ps-2 for 80 quid though, if it was 50 i would probably get it but its a wee bit too much.

Yeah. Are you a Cure fan too then Fran? It's weird, so much of the music I make sounds really 80's... Maybe it's overuse of keyboards, fretless bass, chorus, delay and baritone guitar (yes I did mod the Strat in the end if anyone remembers my baritone topic, it sounds really good 😁).

Just get a cheap electric and detune it like I did. I ended up using the strings which were already on it, which were 9's or 10's, and it's an octave down from normal tuning and although it feels a bit weird at first, it's definitely not too loose to play.

Yeah, The Cure are great. One of my bands was called 'Primary' after the Cure song. Disintegration means a lot to me, i was 18 when it came out and it evokes a lot of good memories.

The Noughties has been very 80's influenced, 2010 and onwards predicts a Grunge revival. Im sure a lot of people here will be pleased, i should be too being as one Youtube user said my band was 15 years too late.

I am pleased about the possible Grunge revival as much as some on here will be if I'm honest, I love Grunge even if I don't show it as much as some of the other members on here, as a complete contrast to subconsciously ripping off The Cure when I'm making music on my own, when I'm playing with a band I end up subconsciously ripping off Soundgarden instead lol. I am seriously considering abstaining from listening to music until I start writing really original stuff, but I just love music too much to do that... I'm just too weak willed.

I really hope the 90's revival thing doesn't bypass Grunge/Alternative and go straight to Britpop instead, which I have an awful feeling it will... Imo the only Britpop band which are any good are Suede, and even then they only made one truly great album and are more Neo-Glam than Britpop.

(And if somebody said that about my band, I'd take it as a compliment lol.)

Nah, when you think of Maximo Park, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire, We are Scientists, The Cribs, etc. they are all 'clean' sounding bands not a million miles from Britpop.

The Nirvana type Grunge sound is back I know alot of you guys don't listen to Brand New but there new album "Daisy" is the first big band album I've heard that has a total 90's grunge sound just listen to this song "Gasoline" it sounds like its some fresh cut Nirvana song from In Utero

there's also Skillet, and I think the band Third Day did a song called Gasoline on one of their cd's. plus there's the theme song from the tv show Overhaulin', which uses the word Gasoline so many times I can't imagine it being called anything else. Plus prolly tons of others

Pedalboard update:

Yup, the Holiest Grail arrived, had to do a lot of moving stuff about on my board to accommodate it. It's an absolutely amazing pedal, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.

That is a DD3 next to it as well, it's on loan over christmas from a mate, while it's there I'm using the Headrush for loops only. The same mate currently has my Crybaby (hence the gap between the Double Muff and Big Muff, I should get it back tomorrow), and I've left a space for the Orange Peel when that arrives.

Regarding the Orange Peel, my friend who's bought me it is also going to paint it, and given that the only guitarist I really love who plays Orange amps is Omar, she's gonna paint a design based on the "Televators" video. 😁

I'm running out of leads, and board space now though...

Like an orange amp but with these menacing eyes from the video would make me jizz in my pants! I want an Orange Peel just to see what it would be like to put it in front of my Orange amp I think the level of Orangatisity might kill me.
