Jaguar newbie. Help!

Hello everybody, first of all exuse my barely decent english, i'm italian and i don't get to practice it very much. I'm a longtime Fender lover but i've always played Strats. Right now i'm very close to buy a classic player Jaguar (a guitar which i've desired for a very long time) but i really can't overcome a couple of doubts. First of all the truss rod access at the bottom of the neck...isn't it something incredibly inconvenient? Doesn't the neck screws get loose after you remove the neck at every setup? I can't imagine how, for example, a guitar from the 60s could survive that. Second doubt: the perpendicular jack hole...i mean, i know it's pretty common, but to me the Strat's diagonal jack hole feels a thousand times more trusty!Am i over-worrying? Are these just irrelevant details?

First of all, the truss rod should be reasonably well adjusted with the factory setup, so you won't need to adjust it yourself, but a removal or two of the neck shouldn't be particularly harmful, if that's what you need to do to adjust your truss rod as needed. My old jaguar doesn't require removal of the neck to adjust, as the truss rod nut is accessable with a right-angle phillips screwdriver. I don't know if the "Clasic Player" uses a phillips-head, or a socket, but it should be accessable. There's also the matter of neck angle on the instrument. A Jaguar sometimes requires more neck angle than supplied from the factory for an optimal setup (especially with lighter strings). It may be necessary to shim the neck a little on a brand-new Jaguar. This would have the additional benefit of raising the truss rod nut to a more easily acessable position. The straight [perpendicular] jack isn't really much of a problem, and you can always get a cable with an L-plug.

Vintage Fender Guitar necks(and vintage-Style re-issues) having the truss rod access at the bottom doesn't necessarelly mean

remove the strings

un-bolt the neck

adjust

put back the string

measure

if not 100% start all over again lolol

the way u do it

is to detune the strings and turn the truss rod from where it is.

Most of the time u only need to turn just a little But i must suggest have a Professional luthier do this( he or she knows and does a better job than us)

for Strings a Jaguar is more of a Heavy strings type of guitar.

Like My American Vintage '65 Fender Jaguar ...in the store they Strung it up with 10s

when i got home in the nice-case it came with, Fender included a set of Flatwound 11s with a wound G string

I Checked with a Digital tuner plugin(Brainworkx Bx_Tuner) i realized alot of notes on the fretboard were out of tune

the store probably changed the heavy gauge for a lighter one without doing a proper steup job

being a Strat owner as well i find it better to have the Jack hole on the side

i'm no guitar maker but back in 1965 it probably meant a little more effort and in order to keep cost down they cut that corner(lol pun)
