Zekkie Boys Warmoth 'Stang from hell!!

Okay peps, my dad finally broke down and said we would do a wormoth Mustang, because it was cheaper and he's been looking for something to do with me as a father/son thingy.

We will be using the swamp ash body for (180$USD) and warmoth 'stang parts. The pickups are yet to be decided, though I am going for singles. So advise on the Pups would be nice.

The color is undecided, thouh I plan to paint it either Lake Placid blue or the weridist color I can find. I plan to use a Birdseye Maple warmoth neck with maple finger/fret board.

Sound good? Any advise would be killer.

I'd recommend the burgandy lace sensors as the pickups. Supposedly they sound like p-90s. Lake Placid Blue will be a real nice color. If it were me, I'd get an ebony fretboard though.

I don't know how going Warmoth would really be cheaper than buying a used or a even new re-issue when you add it all up. I do however like Gold Lace Sensors esp. in the neck pos.

Yeah I know, but also this way I get the exact guitar I want with out having to but new stuff along with the stock guitar.

icebytes advice sucks. The Ferrington Mustang was an abomination, and there is absolutly nothing wrong with the Mustang bridge.

ah not really but Ferrington stang is cool i think with more Mustang features like the slides but no strat input or lil switch dealie also HEART SHAPED INLAYS are soo cool! haha

I like the look and feel of stock mustangs, the bridges are fin as I will not be using the vibroto, I will be blocking it. Could I get Warmoth to do the enlays? Because the Neck is Warmoth stock reversed headsotck with maple fretboard and standered thin. I really don't want a Ferrinigtion style 'Stang. I want a stock stang with the parts and stuff I choice.

If you like the feel of a stock Mustang neck, keep in mind that Warmoth does not do the vintage style radius on thier Mustang necks.

Oh ####. What do you mean vintage style? As opposed to the reissue? Or opposed to the strat or tele?

the warmoth neck comes with compound radius. which is the same a gibson. it's quite flat

Im okay with the flat feel, but I do like with thinness and all. Will it be a fender style neck?

You can choose the back shape but you can not get the 7.25" fretboard shape which is what makes for curvy chording comfort IME and is a big plus reason for playing a Mustang in the first place. You can choose a straight fingerboard radius from Warmoth instead of the compound but the curviest they offer on Mustang necks is like 9" and for that privlege you'll get hit with an extra up-charge.
