OK...Yet another Jagmaster question...and some HH questions

OK, Ive played my Jagmaster vista (with truss rod NOT exposed) so long Ive spoiled. And now I want to upgrade to the Jaguar HH.....and I know this is a very common question, but I have a few very specific questions......

1. The jagmaster is now listed as a 9.5 radius neck. Is this the same as the jagmaster vistas?

2. Are the pickguards for the Jagmaster and Jaguar HH interchangeable? (assuming I change the wiring of course)

3. I love the shape of the neck on my jagmaster....now I know its a 7.5 and the HH is a 9.5....but how big of a diffrence is that?

4. I cant find a store that carries the HH...so if I try out a jaguar....would that be the same neck style (i.e. C style)?

5. Is the HH made in america?

6. If I get an HH Im considering installing EMG's with just basic volume and tone knobs, should I leave the jaguar wiring on as a dumby setup, or should I cut custom piece for the top controlls?

2) no (different switches and controls)

3) quite a big different - you have to play both to compare.

4) jaguar and jaguar HH have completely differen necks..do wont help

5) no, its crafted in japan

6) you should take advantage of the jaguar HH setup - 2 seperate tone/volume circuits.

I have the same dilema as you...i want to get a Jaguar HH and back convert in into a regualr jaguar with regular jaguar pickups. This is because i like the TOM bridge and higher 9.5" neck radius.

However, i cannot buy one until ive played one and made sure i like the neck..cos it is a different neck to both the jagmaster (more frets) and the jaguar (higher radius).

Also not sure if your Vista Jagmaster has a different neck to my 2005 24" scale Jagmaster II...mine just feels like a strat but shorter i.e. quite chunky. hows yrs feel?

Thank you...in reguard to the answers....

1. Accordiing to this site ( http://members.tripod.com/jHale007/ ) my jagmaster is a 7.25 radius neck

2. I relize there are diffrent controlls....but If I was to set a pickguard from a jagmaster over top of the jaguar HH, would it work?

3. According to the musicians friend website the jaguar HH 's neck is a 7.25......wouldnt that then be the same as mine?

5. I was under the assumption that the jaguar HH from japan was discontinued and that this was another model.

I also would desccribe the neck as chunky, and I would get a jagmaster 2, but there not made up to the same specs from what Ive heard.

Musicians friend are wrong, the jaguar special has a 9.5" radius

soo have you tried it? if so, how does the neck compare to your vista jagmaster??

Just bought it....I find it abso####inlutly amazing that not only does Musicians friend, samash and every other site call it a 7.5 radius....but even when the samash guy called fender they said it was a 7.5 radius, that all of these people can be so amazingly wrong.

But it does feel very similar neckwise....not quite the same...perhaps just a little less rounded (could be my imagination) but close enough to be exactly what I wanted....Thanks for all of your help guys.

Now to install 2 EMG pickups, stringsaver saddles, straplocks, and replace ALL of the wiring to make way for a simple 3 way switch and Ill have the guitar of my dreams.

Actually one EMG 85, and then an EMG single coil thats housed in a humbuckers casing.

I have a Jagmaster with the exact same set up as this....

And by the way, (not that it matters) It gives a great overdriven punk tone, especially when I plug it into my 1969 Bassman....(ok now Im just bragging)

Yup, the Fender USA website has it listed as 7.5"..it's on all their spec sheets..however theyve made an error, it is really 9.5", says to on Fender Japan website, plus everyone who has played one knows it.

yeh the radius is a measure of 'roundness' of the fretboard - they may have also made the neck slighter slimmer profile (jag necks are chunky).

DAMN im so jealous you got one - can you post some pictures and/or soundclips???

oh and dont replace the wiring..thats the coolest thing about it, the 2 completely seperate tone/volume circuits. you should rewire the top one with a 3 way switch, and the bottom one to use the regular pickup selectors but with the humbuckers split..so it would sound like an original jag.

now thats versatile!

actually if you're going to re-wire everything and change the pickups..what was the point of upgrading from the Jagmaster? Vista jagmasters were very high build quality..so you'll just be getting a slighgtly different neck and black colour!

Yeah they were amazingly built....so heres the reasons I bought the jag

-Hard tail bridge- I dont use a tremolo, they just get in my way, besides I had a les paul and love the tune-o-matic set up. Plus the guitar sounds tons better with the extra surfface of not having a back cavity.

-I bought my jagmaster used, and whomever had it before me treated it like ####, big chunks of paint have been knocked off, neck has some nicks, and the frets need redone.

-actually by jagmaster is black, so Im not even getting a diffrent color 😛

-Yeah, I didnt buy this guitar for the electronics, although the more I use them, the more I like them.

I bought this guitar for the body and neck, and most of the bridge....everything else will probably be replaced.

The thing that I do to any guitar that I love, really seems to piss off guitar purists (not talkin about you...just in general)
