as a tele owner I can tell you if your looking for warm you wont want one. the bridge pickup is very "thin" sounding, you can get a warm sound out of them if you add a humbucker or a p90, the deluxe comes with them. I like that thin janglesome twang myself thats why I like the jag as well. you might like the jazzmaster better your used to humbuckers it seems and its a much smoother transition into the world of singlecoils than the jag. The jazzmaster pickups remind me of more fenderish(is that a word) p90 with less mids. have you considered adding a neck/bridge series position on your pickup switch? that will give a more humbucker like tone.
