Studio Monitors

My studio is quite small, which is fine, since all recording is only for the songwriting process. My Yamaha's are just too cumbersome and I need to free up some space. I was thinking of picking up these:

M-Audio StudioPro 3 Professional Desktop Audio Monitors for $99

And selling my Yamaha NS-10M's for about $300

Any thoughts?

I've never used anything smaller than NS 10s for near field monitoring...

However, Genelec make a range of really small monitors that might be worth looking at... Think they may be a little on the pricey side tho...

Only one way to find out, you need to listen to something you know really well through them, preferably in your own listening environment rather than a noisy showroom.

Behringer Truth B2031A's rock.. best value for money monitors on the market.

I don't know much about Gee-tars but I used to do a lot of dj'ing and what not, so any q's about decent equipment and what not feel free to ask me.

Also, for cheap studio-monitor headphones.. CHEAP, HAH.

Trust me when I say they're worth every single penny!

Best sound I've heard in a long time for that amount of money.

I had them but sold them along with my decks to buy my Jaguar.

I'm not really looking for "great."

The Yamaha's are actually CRAP. But, that's the point. Studios engineers know that, if you can get a song to sound good on the 10M's, then the song will sound good on *any* speaker. That's why they are so sought after. I, however, have no such need for them, and they take up too much space. Any *decent* set of powered monitors will do, I just haven't shopped for any in so many years, I really don't know what's out there.

But, I will look into the Behringer's...thanks.

Where are you selling the NS10 monitors?

I might be interested in buying them off you.

I've gotta a PayPal account, but the only thing is, I won't be able to buy them exactly right now, maybe in a few months.....

Also, check out hte M-Audio BX5 monitors.

They're pretty small and the BX series seems to be favorable amongst home studio owners.
